How Reading Charts Awakened My Intuition and Taught Me to Trust My Own Channel

Looking back, I can see that so many of the turning points in my life were leading me toward the same realization. I had been following my intuition long before I understood what it was or how to trust it.

For much of my life, I questioned myself constantly. I listened to other people's opinions more than my own and often struggled to understand why I felt drawn toward certain experiences, places, and paths.

Truly, I think the stars, each modality, and their corresponding charts first helped me recognize that I was on purpose, that I had a purpose, and that I wasn't here by mistake.

They helped me see the thread that had been weaving through my life from the very beginning.

When Astrology Began Making Sense of My Life

During my final year studying art therapy, I met a professor who felt like Yoda in feminine form, a wise, grounded, intuitive art therapist and astrologer.

She looked at my chart, saw my Saturn in Leo, studied the planetary cycles I was moving through, and simply said, "You're really going through it." And I was.

Health issues. Breakups. Roommates shifting. Life rearranging itself again and again. For much of my life, the timing of my gifts felt slightly off. But her insight helped me see that even the challenges and delays had purpose. Around this time, I began exploring astrology more deeply, not because I wanted to become an astrologer, but because I wanted to understand myself.

During the first personal astrology reading I received, I sat across from a young woman who looked and held the energy of an angel. My intention was simple. I wanted to understand how to connect with my intuition more and see what my chart held. During the reading, she looked at my chart and laughed. She said, "You're hot and a lot, but as long as you're in integrity, it's kind of their problem if they don't like it." And when I asked about my intuition and how I could connect with it, she said, "You're already using your intuition every single day." I was like, whaaaat?! She explained that what I thought was ordinary wasn't ordinary at all.

My Sagittarius Sun sits at 23 degrees, very close to the Galactic Center. She explained the spiritual significance associated with this placement and how it is often interpreted in connection with channeling and claircognizance, that direct sense of knowing without necessarily understanding how you know.

Until that moment, I thought intuition was something I needed to learn. Instead, I began realizing it had quietly been guiding me my entire life. Later, as I studied my chart more deeply, I discovered that my Sagittarius Sun, Mars, and Neptune were all in my fifth house, the house associated with creativity, joy, imagination, and self-expression.

Suddenly, so much of my life made sense.

The ideas that arrived out of nowhere, even as a child. The creative downloads. The moments I simply knew something before I could explain why. My desire to create. My fascination with consciousness. My pull toward healing. Astrology wasn't telling me who to become. It was describing the story I had already been living.

From that day forward, I started paying attention.

Learning to Trust What My Body Already Knew

After graduating, I worked as a clinical art therapist, founded an art therapy nonprofit studio, and eventually opened my own practice. But something else was happening beneath the surface. I began receiving intuitive messages that I didn't yet know how to incorporate into my sessions. Many of my clients were startup founders and professionals firmly planted in corporate America. Bringing intuitive insights into a clinical setting felt awkward, and I questioned the ethical boundaries of doing so.

That was when Human Design entered my life. I bought a little download from Vaness henry about Astrology, Crystals and this new modality Human Design.I discovered I was a 1/3 Splenic Manifestor , here to initiate and trust my body's instant knowing. That realization felt like an activation. Something inside me clicked. The language of Human Design helped me trust what my body had always been trying to communicate.

Later, the Gene Keys brought another layer of understanding. Through contemplation, I began recognizing patterns in my life, my gifts, my challenges, and the ways they were connected. Each system offered another perspective, but what fascinated me most was where they overlapped. I began recognizing the same themes expressed through different languages.

Slowly, a framework began to emerge. I started calling it Soul Mapping, a blend of chart wisdom, body intuition, and ancestral remembrance.

Following My Intuition Before Understanding Why

In March 2019, I traveled to Costa Rica with my family. What was meant to be a vacation became something far more sacred. From the moment we arrived, something in me softened. I slept deeply, felt nourished by the land, and sensed an unexplainable resonance with the plants, animals, and energy around me.

It was as if my soul recognized the place.

During that trip, I experienced profound emotional releases and moments of knowing I couldn't explain. When I returned to the United States, I landed in Houston and burst into tears. Sitting at the airport bar, trying to eat a quesadilla through a puddle of tears, I heard it, clear as if someone were right beside me. "Bring this energy back to Denver."

It was only the third time I had audibly received a spiritual message. The first two had been warnings. This one was a calling. A year later, a stay-at-home order was put in place in Denver, and the pandemic was underway. I was seeing 30 clients a week and understood why I was needed in Colorado.

At the end of 2021, I left Denver, and a few months later, I returned to Costa Rica and eventually moved there with my dog Tucker. While preparing for the move, I discovered through astrocartography that my Chiron line runs just west of Costa Rica. I had unknowingly been preparing to move there during my Chiron return. I couldn't have planned it if I tried. You truly can't make this shit up.

Once again, the charts were reflecting something I had already experienced. I had followed the feeling before I understood the connection.

When My Intuition Became Part of My Work

Living in Costa Rica brought another evolution. Surrounded by the jungle, the ocean, and the rhythms of nature, I began recognizing how much my environment influenced my ability to listen inward.

During sessions, I started receiving intuitive downloads effortlessly. I found myself accessing what I experienced as the Akashic Records without trying. My intuitive gifts continued to expand. Clairsentience. Claircognizance. Clairaudience. Clairvoyance. Abilities I had sensed for years began moving forward more clearly.

I was no longer only studying intuitive concepts or looking for confirmation in my charts. I was experiencing these abilities directly and learning to trust what came through.

My work began evolving alongside me, incorporating intuitive energy work, channeling Ascended Masters while on TikTok live, mediumship, and eventually Gaia. And also the exploration of patterns that extended beyond what a chart alone could describe. And the more I trusted myself, the more naturally these different aspects of my work began coming together.

From Reading Charts to Trusting My Own Channel

What I find fascinating looking back is that I began this journey wanting someone to explain my path and intuition to me. I wanted to understand my gifts. I wanted to know whether I was following the right path. I wanted confirmation that the things I sensed and experienced meant something. Astrology, Human Design, and the Gene Keys gave me a language for understanding experiences I had struggled to explain.

Over time, reading charts became more than interpreting placements, gates, profiles, and sequences. I began seeing the relationships between them, recognizing patterns, and allowing my intuition to participate in what I was discovering.

Today, when I explore someone's Soul Map, I'm looking at the synergy between these systems and the story they reveal together. My intuition is part of that process, informed by years of studying, experiencing, and contemplating these teachings.

And perhaps the most important thing I've learned is that a chart can help us recognize our gifts, but learning to trust ourselves is how we begin living them. These systems didn't create my intuition. They helped me recognize it, understand it, and eventually trust my own channel.

And that trust continues to evolve even now.
