Trusting the Next Move: Gene Key 57, Mahjong & Standing in Your Own Power
Lately, I've been noticing how much life reveals itself through the simplest experiences. Sometimes our greatest realizations don't arrive during meditation, a retreat, or some profound spiritual experience. Sometimes they happen while playing a game of Mahjong.
I've been playing matching Mahjong Solitaire while listening to healing transmissions, and what began as something enjoyable has turned into an unexpected exploration of intuition, patience, perspective, and trust.
And the timing feels particularly interesting as the Conscious Sun moves through Gene Key 57, which explores the frequencies of Unease → Intuition → Clarity.
I actually have this Gene Key or Gate in my chart and it is significant in the expression of my intuitive gifts. So it makes sense since astrology is ingrained in this modality that I have Libra significant placements. in I’ve also been reflecting on my own Libra Moon and Pluto in Libra, particularly around relationships, reciprocity, and standing in my own power.
This time of year is always particularly challenging for me. Libra season seems to bring these themes into sharper focus, especially where I’ve been giving too much energy to being understood or trying to create balance in relationships.
There seems to be a common thread running through all of it: learning to trust ourselves, recognize the possibilities available to us, and stop exhausting our energy trying to force life to unfold in a particular way. Let’s explore how we can apply this practically in our everyday lives.
Gene Key 57: From Unease to Intuition
Unease is an interesting shadow because it doesn't always announce itself as fear. Sometimes it's the feeling that something isn't happening quickly enough. The uncertainty of not knowing what comes next. The tendency to search for answers, reassurance, or another way to control the outcome.
And sometimes it shows up as the belief that we're missing something. Another piece of information. Another opportunity. Another person who might have the answer.
But the Gift of Intuition invites us into a different relationship with uncertainty.
Intuition doesn't necessarily reveal the entire path. Sometimes it simply allows us to recognize what's available in the present moment. And I've been experiencing that in the most ordinary way.
What Mahjong Solitaire Has Been Teaching Me
When I'm playing Mahjong, there are moments when everything flows. I can see several possible moves, the tiles clear, and the next opportunity becomes obvious. And then I get stuck.
I can stare at the same board, convinced there are no moves left. But when I zoom out or change my perspective, suddenly I see something that was there all along.
The possibilities didn't necessarily change. My ability to recognize them did. How often does that happen in life? We become so focused on one desired outcome that we stop seeing the other possibilities available to us.
Sometimes the game requires me to start a hand over and choose a different route. What initially seemed like the right move might have closed off another possibility. And I've been recognizing how much this parallels clearing limiting beliefs and thoughts about my own path.
Instead of treating that as failure, I've been exploring what happens when I welcome the opportunity to try another way. There's gratitude in being rerouted because a detour can reveal something I wouldn't have seen otherwise.
It reminds me of Temperance and the Hanged One in tarot. The willingness to find balance, surrender our attachment to a particular perspective, and allow a different understanding to emerge. Through it all, there's this combination of belief, determination, surrender, and the willingness to keep solving the puzzle without getting hung up on how it has to unfold.
And when the pieces finally come together, there's that little celebration. The points, the characters cheering, and that dopamine reward. But there's also a deeper satisfaction because I can recognize myself practicing new ways of thinking and responding, strengthening neural pathways through repetition and experience.
I can see the parallels to ascension and the internal changes I've been experiencing. Situations that might have triggered frustration or anxiety in the past are becoming opportunities to recognize how much I've grown.
Stagnancy is annoying to me, and I love that the puzzle themes change. There's variety, challenge, and something new to discover. Sometimes I listen to healing transmissions while I play, and for me, this is showing me how to apply flow in the waiting.
I'm watching my intuition guide me and building trust in it. It's an experience of the higher mind, where my head is working, my heart is entertained, and I'm having fun and experiencing joy.
And sometimes a song lyric, a sound, or a sudden realization interrupts my thinking and opens another possibility. I've been noticing these moments while listening to transmissions and playing, almost as though the game gives my mind something to do while my intuition has room to speak.
Then there are the surprises. The unexpected twists when something works out, or when I choose an unknown tile and it matches another tile I had already chosen without knowing they would go together.
Those moments make me think about how often we're unaware of the possibilities already present. We don't always know how something will connect until we make a move.
And perhaps that's what Gene Key 57 has been illuminating for me. The movement from unease into intuition becomes something I can actually recognize and practice in everyday life.
It's all showing me how much is possible when I stay open, trust myself, allow things to unfold, and remain willing to see another way.
Standing in My Own Power
I've also been recognizing how that same unease can show up in relationships, especially when we're waiting for someone else to respond, understand, or reciprocate. It's another place where we can become so focused on one outcome that we lose sight of our own choices.
This has also been showing up in my reflections about relationships, belonging, and the desire to be seen and understood. With my Moon and Pluto in Libra, relationships, fairness, connection, and the balance between self and others have been recurring themes throughout my life.
Libra is often associated with partnership and harmony, but genuine harmony also requires us to know where we stand. And Pluto brings another layer to that exploration through themes of power, transformation, and the patterns we inherit or repeat in relationships. For me, part of that journey has involved recognizing how much energy can go into trying to be understood, chosen, or received in a particular way.
Whether in personal relationships, family dynamics, creative work, or the way we show up publicly, it's easy to begin measuring our value through the responses we receive.
And lately I've been questioning that exchange.
What happens when we stop trying to convince people of our value? When we stop trying to make ourselves more appealing, understandable, or acceptable? What happens when we stand in what we know about ourselves and allow relationships to develop through genuine resonance?
I think there's a difference between wanting connection and feeling responsible for creating it all by ourselves. Reciprocity matters.
And standing in our own power means recognizing that our energy, presence, creativity, and care have value regardless of whether someone else is ready to receive them.
Calling in the Life We Want
I've been thinking about what it actually means to call in the life we want. We talk about manifestation, alignment, and creating our reality, but there's something important about how we participate in that process. We make choices. We explore possibilities. We respond to opportunities. We recognize what feels right and what doesn't. And sometimes we find ourselves looking at a board where the next move isn't immediately visible. That's where Mahjong keeps bringing me back to the same realization.
I can remain committed to solving the puzzle without insisting that it unfold in one particular way.
I can trust that changing direction doesn't erase the progress I've made.
I can recognize that a detour might reveal something I couldn't see from my original perspective.
And I can enjoy the experience while I'm still figuring it out. That last part feels especially important.
How much of our lives do we spend waiting to feel satisfied until something finally happens?
The relationship arrives. The business succeeds. The money comes. The next chapter begins. And while those desires and practical needs are real, I've been exploring what it means to experience joy, creativity, and possibility while they're still taking shape. To participate in the life I'm living while remaining open to the life I'm creating.
Trusting the Next Move
What fascinates me about Gene Key 57 is the relationship between unease and intuition.
When we're caught in unease, our attention can become so focused on what isn't working that we lose sight of what is available. But intuition invites us to notice something beyond the immediate problem.
Sometimes that's a feeling in the body. Sometimes it's a shift in perspective. Sometimes it's a moment of recognition that arrives through music, art, a conversation, or something as simple as a matching game. And perhaps that's what I've been practicing.
Trusting myself enough to recognize those moments. Being willing to explore another route. Knowing that I can remain committed to my vision without needing to control every step.
And recognizing how much I've already grown when the small frustrations of everyday life no longer have the same power over me. Standing in our own power doesn't mean we always know what comes next.
It means trusting ourselves enough to participate in the unfolding, to recognize when something isn't working, and to remain open to another possibility.
Sometimes the next move becomes visible when we're willing to see the board differently.
