REVIVAL PROJECT: ART + MOVEMENT ART AS HEALING
CREATE YOUR OWN EXPERIENCES
Art as healing is the use of art and curriculum as a method of healing because art is inherently healing. At Beyond Therapy, part of Violet Hive Art Collective we believe that everyone is an artist and all levels of experience are welcome. We facilitate open studios and art as healing programming to allow individuals in our community to reconnect with their creativity and access their highest self. The act of creating art enhances self-esteem, gives a sense of control, and relieves stress and tension by taking the mind off of challenges. Mostly importantly, it is an outlet for emotions. Art as healing is, in essence, using art and its healing benefits to better your mind, body, and spirit.
Anyone can do art as healing, and most people do art healing in their own homes, using whatever methods they prefer, creating any type of artwork. Often it can be more about the process than product. Unlike Art Therapy (in which a masters level professional is required), where the goal is to create art, and then analyze or talk about it with a therapist, art as healing is a personal journey and doesn’t require a therapist but often is best with a facilitating practitioner or artist to hold space and support the process. Our Revival Project Team does art and movement as healing.
We get it and created these workshops and studios to build on skills for self-care and will address different modalities and areas of life for transformation. Many of these skills will be developed through working with art, mindfulness, movement, the chakras, human design and a renewed connection with yourself, emotions, and healing while developing community.
OUR EVERYDAY CONNECTION INTUITION
The answer to a longing to create meaning, magic, ritual, and art as I entered my 4th decade on this beautiful planet has grown stronger than ever before. The ties to the familiar and safe have become less necessary. I have become more embodied and called to stand in my truth. In the past 3 years I have immersed myself in mindfulness, meditation, and art-making which has led to a deep level of work in self-inquiry. I have become more profoundly alive and connected to innate knowing and gifts of healing as well, I have developed relationships with peers, mentors, and teachers to learn how to ethically and spiritually apply what I have learned and remembered. Organically my career path has led me to be a healing practitioner that works with a therapeutic lens but also my intuition in the process of inquiry to help others reconnect to themselves and their higher selves. My voice and inner landscape (chakras and heart called for healing which led to a calling that spoke so loudly that that the only thing to do was say yes. So here I am extending my hand to support and guide others to returning to themselves and understanding that intuition is for every day and we all have access to this inner wisdom.
